Host of The Jungle

Hi, this is BC, host of “The Jungle.” Music has always inspired me. Growing up I was involved heavily
in sports and never gave much thought to learning an instrument, but I wish now that I would have
because I’ve always felt passionately about music; and knowing how to play an instrument is a great
skill to have. My favorite type of music is the rock played by the long haired guys and gals that features
hard hitting guitars and drums, catchy melodies, and choruses big enough to blow your speakers off! I
do enjoy and appreciate all kinds of music, but there’s something about a song that combines the metal
sound with poppy melodies that makes it my favorite kind. Favorite five bands? Whitesnake tops the
list, hands down, and I suppose I’ll follow with Def Leppard, Poison, Warrant, and White Lion, but those
four are interchangeable with several others that you don’t see on this list. What is great about College
Radio is that it provides a solid training ground for future broadcasters, it allows students to share their
views with a public audience, and the free format lets DJs share their musical tastes. In “The Jungle,”
you can expect 80s rock along with newer music that those artists create, as well as newer bands that
play that type of music. One person from the 80s rock genre I’d like to meet is Vito Bratta, former White
Lion lead guitarist. He was hailed by critics both in and outside of the metal circuit and Guitar World
magazine voted him Best New Guitarist in 1989 (check out his work on “Wait,” “When The Children
Cry,” and “Little Fighter”). After WL disbanded in the 90s, he disappeared from the music business.
Would love to meet him. Thanks for reading – and please know that all are welcome in “The Jungle”!
