Inside The Largest Human Skin Bank

The largest skin bank in the world is located in the Zionist entity of Israel.

The Israel National Skin Bank, according to the National Library of Medicine, was created in 1986 and since then has been operated by the Israeli military.

The purpose of a skin bank is much like that of a blood bank; if someone is involved in an accident of some sort and is in dire need of blood due to bleeding out, having blood on hand will help save that person’s life. If someone is involved in an accident and has their skin damaged, having skin grafts readily on hand will help save that person and give them a better quality of life.

Sounds nice right? If only it was as sweet as it sounds.

To have a skin bank, you need to have willing donors. The problem with Israel being an ethno-state, and majority of its citizens being Jewish, is that those in the Jewish faith believe the way you come into this world is the way you should come out. This means that when you die, you shall be placed in the grave in a whole and one piece…like, with all your organs.

So, how does Israel have the largest skin bank in the world if none of their own citizens are contributing to it? It always goes back to Palestinians killed at the hands of Israel.

Yes, another form of oppression and barbarism of Israel is ignoring religious beliefs of Muslims. Muslims also believe they should be buried with their whole bodies intact. However, Israel is stealing their dead bodies to deposit in their skin bank.

The topic of the skin bank had been kept quiet since the early 2000s, but has since regained some attention online. This is due to the recent coverage of aggressions on Gaza, such as the return of a truck full of decayed Palestinians covered in body bags to the besieged Gaza Strip. Those in the truck had been kidnapped and taken to Israel.

Israeli doctor and anthropologist, Dr. Meira Weiss, wrote a book titled “On Their Dead Bodies,” in which she describes her time working in Tel Aviv at the Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine. Dr. Weiss recalls seeing doctors harvesting not just the organs, but whole bodies of Palestinian martyrs, but not touching those of fallen Israeli soldiers.

In an article titled “Debunking the world’s largest skin bank,” by Ahmad Selim on Medium, Weiss is quoted, “During my time at the institute, I witnessed how they would ‘take’ organs from a Palestinian body and not ‘take’ anything from the soldiers in return.”

“They would take corneas, skin, and heart valves, while noting that non-professionals would not notice the absence of these organs as they would place something plastic in place of the corneas and ‘take’ the skin from the back so that the family wouldn’t see it. In addition, the bodies of detained martyrs are used in medical colleges at Israeli universities for research purposes.”

Although this information was given in the context of the first Intifada, this practice is still being conducted on Palestinians, more specifically Palestinian prisoners.

Oftentimes when a Palestinian prisoner passes away while in occupation jails, the deceased body of the prisoner is kept until they finish their sentence. A prime example is the deceased Palestinian political prisoner, Khader Adnan.

Adnan was a high-profile Palestinian prisoner in occupation jails, best known for his prolonged hunger strikes. Adnan had been arrested 13 times by Israeli forces since 2004, serving eight nonconsecutive years in prison.

Adnan had gone on hunger strike a total of five times, with the longest hunger strike he conducted in 2012 for a total of 66 days. According to Al Jazeera, this was the longest hunger strike conducted by a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails at the time.

Adnan’s last hunger strike of 86 days ultimately led to his death on May 2, 2023.

According to Amnesty International, Adnan’s family had waited over 24 hours to retrieve the deceased body of their beloved, only to be left empty-handed. Adnan’s body has been kept in Israeli custody for 277 days.

Adnan is one of 256 deceased Palestinians held hostage in Israeli morgues, according to Swedish journalist, Donlad Boström, in Selim’s Medium Article.

According to the Euro-Med Monitor, since the Oct. 7 attacks, Israel has been holding dozens of Palestinian martyrs hostage and has also been seen digging up the mass graves of Palestinians and stealing their bodies. Given Israel’s track record, concerns of organ theft have been on the rise again.

As said in Euro-Med Monitor, “Concerns about organ theft from the corpses were brought up by Euro-Med Monitor, which cited reports from medical professionals in Gaza who quickly examined a few bodies after their release. These medical professionals found evidence of organ theft, including missing cochleas and corneas as well as other vital organs like livers, kidneys, and hearts.”

As of recently, a truck full of Palestinian bodies covered in body bags and numbered tags was dropped off at a school in Gaza. These bodies were decomposed, left with blindfolds, and handcuffed. They were discovered coincidentally by Gazans cleaning up the area. After an examination, it’s believed these Palestinans were killed “execution style,” according to Al Jazeera.

It’s very unsettling and heartbreaking to hear such gruesome information—that human beings are being treated like lab rats and less than human by “the most moral army in the world,” according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Palestinians deserve the right to live and die in dignity. Let Palestinians live. Free Palestine.
