The American Music Awards will be taking place this weekend on November 20 and judging by the nominations and performers, it is sure to be a good night. The show will be hosted by supermodel Gigi Hadid and comedian Jay Pharoah. Let’s take a look at the performers and this year’s nominations.
It was announced last month that Bruno Mars would be opening the show and this will actually be the first time that he has performed on the AMA stage. It has been 4 years since the world has heard any new music from Mars and his third album will be coming out this Friday, November 18. Two songs have been released off of the album, the successful hit “24K Magic” and just recently “Versace on the Floor”.
The night will include many performances from your favorite artists including: James Bay, The Chainsmokers with Halsey, Fifth Harmony, Green Day, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Niall Horan, John Legend, Maroon 5 with Kendrick Lamar, Shawn Mendes, Sting, Twenty One Pilots, and The Weeknd.
As for nominations, Drake leads the pack with 13, Rihanna has 7, and Adele and Justin Bieber both are tied with 5 nominations each. Here are the rest of the nominations.
