Music Scene: November Concerts

With the year slowly winding down, bands and artists continue to rock around the world on their tours. With this being said, what better way to start capping off the year then attending a concert. Here are numerous artists that you can go and see in the area this November.

Yellowcard – On June 24, Yellowcard announced that the band would be breaking up once they release their final album and embark on their last world tour. The band is most known for hits like “Ocean Avenue” and “Only One”. The band will be rolling through Chicago on November 3 and 4 and will play at the House of Blues.

Good Charlotte – Pop punk band Good Charlotte went on a five-year hiatus beginning in 2011 but are back to rock the world yet again. With the release of their sixth studio album, Youth Authority, Good Charlotte has had a lot of success with the album and are looking to continue that with this tour. They will be in town on Friday, November 4 at the Riviera Theatre.

The 1975 – Alternative band The 1975 will be playing at the Aragon Ballroom on November 13 and 14. Their November 13 show is sold out but you can still catch them on Monday the 14. The bands second album, I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, earned a number one spot on the Billboard Hot 200 chart back in March.

Elle King – Known for her mega-hit, “Ex’s and Oh’s”, Elle King has left her mark on the music industry with her unique and soulful sound. She will be performing at the Riviera Theatre on Saturday, November 5. Her recent collaboration with Country singer Dierks Bentley for the song called, “Different for Girls”, has done well on the charts and also won a CMA award for Vocal Event of the Year last night.

Carrie Underwood – Country superstar Carrie Underwood has been dominating the country charts for years and you can bet that she will definitely bring down the house when she comes to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Wednesday November 9. Carrie was recently became RAIAA’s highest certified country album artist to debut this century.

Machine Gun Kelly – Rapper Machine Gun Kelly will be performing at the House of Blues on Wednesday, November 16 here in Chicago. His debut studio album, Lace Up, was released back in 2012 and snagged a number four spot on the Billboard 200 chart in the first week. MGK recently released a single with Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello titled, “Bad Things”.

Cole Swindell – Back in the early days, Cole Swindell used to sell merchandise for country crooner Luke Bryan. Swindell has now made his place in the country music scene and has had a lot of success. Off of his sophomore album, he released three successful singles, “You Should Be Here”, “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight”, and “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey”. He will be at Joe’s Live in Rosemont on Wednesday November 30.

 

 

 

Other artists/bands that will be in town during November include: Young the Giant, Sleeping with Sirens, Kelsea Ballerini, Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray with American Authors, Old Dominion, Two Door Cinema Club, and more.
