The Saint Xavier Cougars were victorious last Thursday when they faced off against the Governor State University Jaguars. Courtney Joyce had a stellar game with 30 assists and 12 digs.
The match was a fairly easy affair for the Cougars winning the match in three sets. The scores of those sets were 25-9, 25-18, and 25-16.
Other members of the Cougar volleyball squad that had good outings were Alex Lambros with eight kills and four block assists. Meghan Falsey managed to rack up seven kills and two blocks. Helena Atton had seven kills as well.
Lauren Young contributed to the victory with two service aces. At present the women’s record stands at 16-9 overall and 9-2 record in the CCAC. The Cougars will next face off against Roosevelt University at the Shannon Center on Tuesday.
