Although the Volleyball season may be over, the women have a lot to be proud of. Finishing 24-17 in total and 15-4 in the CCAC conference. The team made it to the second round of the CCAC tournament in which they were defeated by University-South Bend. Despite the tough loss, Sophomores Helena Atton, Rory Manion, and Courtney Joyce all received one last win as they were honored by the CCAC. Both Atton and Joyce made the All-CCAC first team, while Manion was listed on the second team. This was a big accomplishment for Atton and Manion as this was there first time making a team, while this was Joyce’s second. Looking at the stats, Atton lead the team in total blocks with 112 and finished second in total kills with 385. Joyce lead the team in total assists with 903. Finally, Manion finished the season with a team leading 485 kills. The honors these women received don’t only attest to their amazing athletic ability, but the academic prowess they have as a nominee must have a 3.25 GPA.

A season that ended in heartbreak may be the current chapter, but it’s not the end of the story. This is a team that will continue to grow together and improve into what I believe to be future champions.
