The Student Government Association and the Office of the President are hosting a Pizza with the Presidents event on Monday, Feb. 21 in the Diner.
As described on the Den, this event is designed for all members of the community, meaning students, staff, and faculty, to celebrate President’s Day with leaders of the Saint Xavier community. The event allows for the community to enjoy pizza and mingle with the Presidents, as long as you RSVP to the event.
The Vice President of SGA, Katherine Hutto, answered some questions about the event in an email interview on Feb. 4. Hutto stated that this is an event that celebrates Presidents Day with a way in which they can meet various presidents within the SXU community.
Some presidential attendees include: Dr. Laurie M. Joyner, President of Saint Xavier University, Dr. Amanda Lopez, President of Faculty Senate, Dr. Rola Othman, President of Staff Council, Nada Alaraj, Executive President of Student Government Association, Katherine Hutto, President of Student Activities Board, Mario Young, President of Residence Hall Association, and Evelyn Martinez, President of Hall Council.
The event creates an opportunity for the community to interact and connect with each other and with the presidents, where questions and concerns can be voiced over pizza, a casual and interactive environment.
Hutto also stated on Feb. 4 that the “most exciting opportunity for students at this event is to be able to have direct contact with these presidents which provides them with an opportunity to bring up any questions or concerns that they may have”.
