The Penguin Page on HBO Max                         The Xavierite

“The Penguin” is the newest project and HBO Max original from DC and Matt Reeves. It tells the story of Oswald Cobblepott’s (Colin Farrell) rise to power after the Riddler floods Gotham City.

In comparison to 2022’s “The Batman,” “The Penguin” is so much darker. As of now, three episodes have been released, all featuring brutal scenes and beautiful cinematography.

However, the greatest part of the series so far is that it is heavily focused on character development. The main characters that are explored besides Oswald are Salvator Maroni (Clancy Brown), and Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti).

The dialogue has also been extremely great so far, just like “The Batman.” The writers were not joking around, and created what I believe was a masterpiece.

With that being said, each episode is set to be around an hour long, so watch if you have the time. Be warned though, that there is a decent amount of gore, and lots of cussing.

New episodes of “The Penguin” will release every Sunday until Nov. 10.
