After seeing “Carrie: The Musical” at Moraine Valley, I became completely infatuated with the “Carrie” franchise.
Something about the “Carrie” story always piqued my interest. The first I’d ever heard of it was in a newspaper article in 2013, when the newest “Carrie” film was released. I remember seeing the bloodied face on the movie poster and wanting so badly to see the new film, but because of its gory nature, my mother responsibly didn’t allow my eight-year-old eyes to feast upon the iconic remake.
The next night after I saw the play, I watched the original 1976 “Carrie” film starring Sissy Spacek, and I was totally enamored by her performance. I couldn’t believe it had taken me over a decade to finally indulge in this masterpiece of a story.
