I really, really want to be a Bears fan. They just make it so hard sometimes.

This last Sunday, the Bears received a royal kick in the butt from the Green Bay Packers, giving up 55 points and only scoring 14 in return.

To be fair, I didn’t watch the whole game. I watched the majority of it, though, and turned back and forth between programs. Senior sports editor Tim Carroll did, because he’s some sort of masochist, apparently.

I was not expecting a victory from the Bears, given the fact that the Bears received an almost equally embarrassing pounding from the New England Patriots the game before. However, the Bears were able to at least score 23 points in that game…at least.

The Bears play the Vikings next week. Maybe if the Bears can…

Oh, who cares? They’re not going anywhere.

The best thing to come out of the Bears this year thus far has been all the new Smokin’ Jay Cutler memes.

Here’s a sad story, on Sunday I was watching the Saints/49ers game. Drew Brees made an incredible Hail Mary pass to the end zone. Though it was later deemed that this was not a touchdown due to an error committed by the receiver, I couldn’t help but think: “Why can’t the Bears do something like that?”

There are a lot of fingers you could point this year: Trestman is not the right guy to lead the team, there have been an insurmountable amount of injuries, Cutler is not the player fans hoped he would be…the list goes on and on and on.

I’m about at the end of my rope with the Bears. I’ve decided to start rooting for a new team.

Hmmmm…maybe I could join the ranks of Seattle’s Twelfth Man. Nah, I don’t look good in lime green.

There are so many choices! Peyton Manning and the Broncos are always worth consideration, the Detroit Lions are looking pretty good and that Aaron Rogers of the Packers is no slouch.

Here’s what I want you readers to do – send a letter to the editor telling me who I should root for during the rest of the season.
