Trinity Christian College (6601 W. College Dr., Palos Heights) will close after the commencement of the 2025-2026 school year after 66 years of educating students.
Acting President Jeanine Mozie of Trinity Christian College issued a statement on Nov. 4 alongside Trinity’s Board of Trustees Chair Ken Dryfhout to announce the institution’s closure.
“We know this news is difficult to hear,” Mozie explained in the statement. “It’s certainly difficult to share. The Board has worked faithfully and tirelessly to consider every possible option in the face of significant and rapidly evolving financial challenges. However, there is no sustainable path forward for our beloved institution.”
According to Mozie, Trinity will graduate “as many students as possible” at the school’s commencement ceremony, which will take place on May 8, 2026.
In the joint statement with Mozie, Dryfhout, a 2003 Trinity alum, shares his reaction to the school’s closure: “As an alum myself, I grieve this ending. Perhaps like you, Trinity has been part of my family for generations. My parents attended Trinity and were married here on campus. This decision was not taken lightly.”
Numbers on Trinity’s website report total enrollment in the institution at 985, with 766 undergraduate students and the remaining in adult and graduate programs. The institution has a 10:1 student to faculty ratio, and an average class size of 36.

On Nov. 7, Saint Xavier University (SXU) News announced a “collaborative agreement” with Trinity to streamline students into SXU after the former’s closure next spring.
According to the SXU News announcement, “SXU will offer automatic admission to Trinity Christian College students and will match out-of-pocket net tuition and costs. All credit hours earned will be accepted, and SXU will identify a pathway for teach-out students to complete the equivalent degree at SXU in the same time frame it would have taken to complete at Trinity.”
“Deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition of compassion and our core value of hospitality, the Saint Xavier University community warmly welcomes the students from Trinity Christian College,” said SXU President Keith Elder, Ph.D. in a statement to SXU News.
