On April 11, the men and women’s track and field team traveled to Benedictine University in Lisle, IL to compete in the Eagle Invite.
The men’s team had a solid outing altogether as they would finish tied for eighth place but, unfortunately, the women did not do so great as they would finish tied for 14th.
In the men’s flight one, freshman Anthony Kowalczyk finished in fourth place with a distance of 33.38m and freshman Josh Wallick placed in sixth with a distance of 30.64m.
In the men’s discus flight one, Kowalczyk once again did great, finishing in first place with a distance of 38.25m. Wallick also did a great job when he placed in third in the event with a distance of 36.42m.
In the men’s shot put flight two, Wallick would finish in sixth place with a distance of 10.26m. In the men’s shot put flight three, Kowalczyk would place in second with a distance of 13.01m, which was just .07m short of first place.
In the women’s 5000 meters heat two, senior Ali Proffitt would finish in seventh place with a time of 19:01.86, while sophomore Courtney Correa would place in 15th with a time of 19:57.28.
In the men’s 5000 meters heat one, sophomore Alexander Ray would record a time of 16:31.09, which would be good enough to put him in fifth place. In the men’s 5000 meters heat two, sophomore Abel Hernandez would place in seventh with a time of 15:27.20 and freshman Victor Solis would finish in 20th place with a time of 16:11.90

In the men’s 4 x 100m relay heat one, the Cougars would have a great showing, finishing in first place with a time of 43.51. In the men’s 3000m steeple, junior Janis Pastars would have a great outing, finishing in second place with a time of 9:46.62.
The women’s team had their best showing of the day in the women’s 1500 meters heat one. Sophomore Nicole Watkins would finish in first place with a time of 5:07.36.
Junior Ann Kolker would come right behind her, finishing in second place with a time of 5:07.37, finishing just 0:00.01 milliseconds behind Watkins for first place.
Freshman Jocelyn Camacho would finish in eighth place with a time of 5:38.56 and senior Amanda McGee would finish in 14th place with a time of 6:04.57. In the men’s 1500 meters, senior Brian Corcoran would finish second overall with a time of 3:56.95.
In the women’s 400 meters heat two, sophomore Rachel Koronkiewicz would finish in second place with a time of 1:04.72.
In the men’s 400 meters heat one, freshman Ian Hollendonner finished in first place with a time of 52.60. That would set the tone for the rest of the heat as freshmen Leon Reid and Ryan Keating would finish in fourth and fifth respectively, with times of 56.84 and 57.92.
In the men’s 400 meters heat two, senior John Frederickson would finish in sixth place with a time of 56.84. The men’s 100 meters was the best showcase of the men’s team as three runners would place in first in three of the six heats.
Junior Ben Tracy finished with a time of 11.56 in the first heat to take first, freshman Kyonn Keith finished with a time of 11.01 in the second heat to take first, and senior Tyler Hoeg finished with a time of 11.50 in the third heat to take first.
