It has been yet another wild week in Chicago sports, with a wide variety of events occurring.

In the football world, the Chicago Bears played the New York Jets on Sunday. The Bears beat the Jets 24-10. The Bears are now 4-3 this year, which is good enough for 1st in the NFC North. The Bears play the Buffalo Bills next Sunday in Buffalo at 12:00 PM.

In the baseball world, multiple players from the Cubs and White Sox have been recognized for their outstanding defensive performances in the MLB Gold Glove Awards. For the White Sox, left fielder Adam Engel has been nominated for the award.

On the Cubs, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, and Jason Heyward have been nominated for the award.

The winners will be revealed on November 4th.

In the college football world, the Northwestern Wildcats pulled off an upset victory over the #20 ranked Wisconsin Badgers. The Wildcats defeated the Badgers 31-17 in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday. Northwestern improved to 5-3 on the year, which puts them at 1st place in the Big 10 West. The Wildcats travel to South Bend, Indiana to play the #3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish next Saturday.

In the soccer world, the Chicago Fire played their final game of the season on Sunday, a 0-0 draw against D.C. United. The Fire finished the year with a record of 8-8-18, which put them at 10th place in the MLS Eastern Conference and 20th place in the overall league. The Fire face plenty of questions over the offseason and it will be interesting to see how they can regroup following this disastrous season.

In the basketball world, the Chicago Bulls played four times this week. On Monday, they played the Dallas Mavericks in Dallas. The Bulls lost that game 109-115, despite a strong 34 point showing from Zach LaVine. On Wednesday, the Bulls picked up their first victory of the season when they defeated the Charlotte Hornets 112-110. 

The game was tied 110-110 with half of a second left when Zach LaVine was fouled. LaVine sunk the two free throws he was awarded, which put the Bulls up 112-110 with no time left. After that close victory, the Bulls traveled to Charlotte on Friday for a rematch against the Hornets. The Bulls lost that game 106-135.

The Bulls finished the week by playing the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday in Chicago.The Bulls won that game 97-85. The Bulls are now 2-4, which puts them at fourth place in the NBA Central.

In the hockey world, the Chicago Blackhawks played four times this week. On Tuesday, the Blackhawks played the Anaheim Ducks in Chicago and beat them 3-1. On Thursday, the Blackhawks hosted the New York Rangers and beat them 4-1. On Saturday, the Blackhawks played the St. Louis Blues in St. Louis and lost 3-7.

The Blackhawks finished the week by playing the Edmonton Oilers in Chicago and lost 1-2. The Blackhawks are now 6-3-3, which is good enough for 4th place in the NHL Central Division.

It has been a hectic week in Chicago sports with soccer wrapping up and basketball and hockey getting in high gear.

The temperature may be getting colder, but the sports are just heating up.
