Saint Xavier University will be hosting its annual Taste of SXU fair on Wednesday, April 30. The event will be held at the Shannon Center parking lot between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and will feature numerous food vendors. The Taste of SXU marks one of the most anticipated end of the year celebrations at Saint Xavier University. As well, the Taste of SXU is an event funded by the Student Activity Fund and sponsored by the Saint Xavier Council.
Many of the students who attend the end of the school year celebration, take part in the many food tastings from restaurants around campus and the Saint Xavier community.
One of the biggest draws of the event is the sheer variety of food made available at the event. The planned vendors include some on campus locations, local neighborhood food establishments, and the infamous food trucks.
For a campus full of hungry students with dwindling dining dollars by the end of the semester, the Taste of SXU offers a great opportunity to grab some grub. Admission to the event is free for students, which is meant to encourage a high student turnout.
For faculty and staff members at Saint Xavier, a five dollar charge will be necessary in order to gain admission into the tasty event. The overall event boasts giveaways that including a free t-shirt, something any student would love to adorn. There also will be plenty of music and fun events planned during the three hour food extravaganza.
Students who are planning to attend will have plenty to taste and dance about as the day progresses, and local weather has shown that early Wednesday may hopefully be clear of rain showers.= Saint Xavier student and Junior Education Major Marissa Melvan is looking forward to the event on Wednesday and hopes the weather holds up for the day. “I am hoping it doesn’t rain, I really enjoyed the warm weather last year and the food variety available.” stated Marissa when speaking about the Taste of SXU event.
Even with the weather still up in the air, the Taste of SXU should turn out to be another successful and fun filled event where students can get their food fix before the semester’s end.
Be sure to attend the event Wednesday and celebrate of the most anticipated events at Saint Xavier University.
