The Return of Good Cartoons

Posted on April 10, 2013
This pretty much sums up my childhood.
This pretty much sums up my childhood.

Earlier this week, I saw a post on Facebook about new additions to the Netflix library. Recently, they have added many older Cartoon Network series such as Dexter’s Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and Cow and Chicken.
I am seriously excited for this. Well, I would be if I had a Netflix account.

Luckily for me, I happen to own the first season of Dexter’s Lab, the complete series of the Powerpuff Girls, and the first half of the first seasons of Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. My dad got them for me for Christmas (he also got me footie pajamas, so you should be super jealous).

I am so glad to see that older cartoons are coming back and being more easily accessible.

Besides being on Netflix, Cartoon Network has been releasing the older cartoons on DVDs, which are justifiably labeled “Hall of Fame”.
Right now, only the first season of the shows are out right now, but I am sure that soon Cartoon Network will realize that there are plenty of 20-or-30-something children at heart who would love to shell out more money to watch the other seasons of the shows.

Just think of the profit they could make from releasing box sets, collector’s editions, special anniversary editions, and all of the memorabilia to go along with it.
It would be a win-win situation for everybody, and if Cartoon Network is reading this, they should really get on this ASAP.
