Conventions are a way for fans of television and films to express their love throughout guest appearances and many others.
As of today, there are many conventions held around the world such as FanExpo, C2E2, Megacon, Supercon and much more.
The Office Reunion, also known as the Dunder Con, began in 2022 in New York’s very own Meadowlands Expo Center. The convention ran from Saturday, August 6 through Sunday, August 7.
This year, Dunder Con is being held in Chicago at Navy Pier on April 22-23.
The name, Dunder Con, came from the show’s setting.The employees in the television show work for a company named Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company.
The Office is a television show that aired its first season in 2005 and concluded in 2013. Throughout the nine seasons, the audience gets to see many coworkers bond through incidents and pranks. As well, relationships begin between those that may seem polar opposites of one another.
Each character throughout each season of The Office was able to continue their story with both character growth and side plots.
Similar to many other conventions, this con invites cast members from The Office to give autographs and photo ops to the fans. Additionally Dunder Con is attended by many cosplayers who dress up as their favorite characters.
Dunder Con tickets vary from general admission tickets, which let an individual get into the convention at 11:00 each day. With V.I.P tickets; that let you in an hour early each day.
There are some big differences between Dunder Con and other comic cons around the world.
The prices are completely different. Normally a photo op and autograph goes for around $150 to $200. This convention has the same composition within, but prices are roughly $40 to $90.
The only cast member whose prices exceed $100 for both photos and autographs is Rainn Wilson due to the fact that he is one of the main characters.
Another aspect that is unlike others is that it is less crowded due to this convention being smaller. An advantage of having a smaller crowd at the convention is that an individual could have more one-on-one time with the cast members during photo op and autographing sessions, but also everyone enjoys the same show.
Coming to the convention this year are around thirty individuals to take photos and autographs with fans. This includes Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute), Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone) and Kate Flannery (Merideth Palmer).
This convention also holds panels and special events. Panels are big spaces where fans can ask questions to the cast members. Along with the Q & A the casts all come together to ask questions and talk to one another about their time on the show.
This convention, like many others, brings people together through fandom of shows and movies. Individuals get to cosplay their favorite characters as well as meet the cast of their favorite shows. Tickets can be purchased on reunioncon.com for both V.I.P and general admission.
