The NBA Finals and Finals Prediction

The first week of the 2023 NBA Playoff has ended, and the games have brought some much intensity with teams looking to progress to the second round.

There are teams that have constructed their roster to go all the way to reach the NBA Finals.

Teams like the Boston Celtics who played in The Finals (and lost to the Warriors in 6 games) last year are looking to go back and be led to victory by their all-star forwards(?) Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks, who ended with the best record in the association, are looking for another championship following their 2021 triumph but have to get past Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.

One of the favorites to win the whole thing is the Phoenix Suns. They acquired an all-time great in Kevin Durant back in February to add to the fuel they already had with Devin Booker.

There are many teams that have a chance to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy in June, but only one team will do it.

Despite being impressed with some teams, The teams that will be playing in June are the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns.

This is a very bold prediction to make, but these two teams have two of the best rosters in the league with superstar firepower.

As I mentioned before, Boston is led by 25-year-old Jayson Tatum and 26-year-old Jaylen Brown.

After a disappointing performance last season in the finals, Tatum bounced back with a historical season and is looking to finish it off with the ultimate prize.

Tatum ended the regular season averaging 30 points per game and being the first Celtic in history to achieve this milestone.

Jaylen Brown concluded the regular season by averaging 26 points per game, a career-high for him.

The roster around these players fits perfectly. They are accompanied by Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart and Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon.

Boston has quality shooting around their roster that makes them the favorite to win their 18th NBA title in their franchise history.

On the other hand, Phoenix is led by guard Devin Booker and forward Kevin Durant, two players that average 26+ points.

The Suns also have a Hall of Fame Point Guard Chris Paul which makes it easier for his teammates out on the court.

Center Deandre Ayton is another piece to complete this team that gives the Suns 18 points per night and 10 rebounds.

One thing that Phoenix does lack is depth, but in the playoffs with this kind of roster, you always want your best players; it should not be a problem for them.

Phoenix played in the Finals back in 2021 and lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, but with Durant added to the mix, they think they can make a run for a championship.

Phoenix hopes they can make it back to the Finals with Durant and Booker leading the line.

Both of these teams have spectacular rosters that are led by two top 5 duos in the league right now.

Two teams that are guided by a great coaching staff that knows what it takes to make it to the finals and that has finals experience.

With that being said, I believe Boston will beat Phoenix in 7 games if this series were to happen in the 2023 NBA Finals.

Boston has more cohesion and a deeper roster than Phoenix since this Suns team has only been together for about two months. Additionally, I think Boston is more driven since they just lost last year so they are looking to make a statement this year.
