Untraced Clouds
by Jorge Pliego
Under the citylights over the never endless skies are stars that shimmer bright.
Our sights have seen the wonders of untraced clouds and fallen dusk.
Her beauty in the radiance of a white mist moon.
All I saw was her.
As the pure snow fell upon us.
We laughed as if night had no morning.
We’ve promised to leave our present craved in the near tree.
Ever since then I kept that promised and so I did.
Every year I’d visit that tree for it was symbolic.
It was a place I’d promise to share a moment with my beloved.
Forever untraced cloud we used to see is now visible to her and me.
Hurricanes and Tornadoes
by Jorge Pliego
I am the creator of my own destructive storms.
They bring destruction to places that have caused me hurricanes.
These tornadoes that have conjured become a spawn from torment.
without remorse I let these tornadoes spin and spin.
and so I release it because it’s radius consumes me.
There’s no other way, but to let it take its wrath.
Call it man made, strings detached.
So I become haunted by storms under clouds and rain.
can’t get away when both sides are condemned by tornadoes
and man made hurricanes.
