The Cougars beat Missouri Baptist University on Saturday with an all-around domination with a final score of 31-13.
An Offensive explosion from Freshman Running Back, Mario Price, included a receiving touchdown, which was his first Collegiate Touchdown and a combined 63 yards.
The passing game was also a definite factor in this game. Junior Quarterback, Stuart Ross, threw 17 for 29, 135 yards, and a passing touchdown. He recorded a Rushing touchdown as well.
This game has put at a total of 4,000 passing yards for his collegiate career.
Junior Wide Receiver, Kyle Quinn, got involved on offense with a 65-yard flea flicker touchdown.
Senior Linebacker, Joey Markasovic, racked up four total tackles, a QB hit, and an interception for a touchdown.
Alongside Markasovic, another young, dominant force made his presence known.
Freshman Linebacker, Terry Elias, recorded seven tackles, a forced fumble, recovered his own fumble, and had a QB hit.
Junior Defensive Back, Ron Carrol, also helped clinch the win with 12 total tackles, a game sealing sack, a pass break up, and a QB hit. Carrol led the team with his 12 tackles in the game.
In addition to leading the team in tackles, he had multiple clutch tackles that put Missouri Baptist in difficult spots that they couldn’t climb out of.
Multiple third down stops were made. One who made a number of tackles was Junior Defensive Back, Kevin Countryman.
All of those players made big, pivotal plays to extend and maintain the lead.
It helped that Missouri Baptist was unable to capitalize on key drives and control the ball.
On top of that, multiple personal fouls committed by Missouri Baptist also set them up in bad positions multiple times throughout the game.
With another win in the books, the Cougars play away next Saturday, at 12pm against Trinity International University, in Dolton, IL.
