The Guide to Taste of Chicago

Chicago will be holding one of its biggest tourist attractions, the Taste of Chicago, on July 10 through July 14. Located at Grant Park, this event will feature Estelle, Robin Thicke, Neon Trees, and other artists. Along with concerts, Chicago’s best food will be available for the public.

For the food lovers there will be pop up restaurants that will literally pop up and set stands hosted by different restaurants for a day or two, serving food. There will also be food trucks for the concertgoers parked by the lawn serving evening entrees and desserts. They will be serving food one hour before evening concerts. The food being served at the festivals will include Indian, French, Chinese, Southern and much more.

This tradition began in 1980 when a group of restaurateurs approached the Mayor Jane Byrne with the idea of a food festival, and since then it has grown to be the most popular tourist attraction held in Chicago. Last year’s festival attracted more than one million people ranging from the suburbs to the whole country.

It is now in its 33rd year, with continuous growing numbers. New additions have been added such as an air-conditioned dining experience with notable chefs such as Graham Elliot, Stephanie Izard and Rick Bayless this year.
