SXU women’s basketball fans rejoice! Anyone who followed SXU women’s basketball last year knows just how dominant they were. With the return of stars such as junior guard Kara Krolicki and senior Mikeyla Layden, the team can return back to this dominance. If for some strange reason this doesn’t excite you for this come season, there is something, or rather someone who will sure to excite you for the next. Senior high school guard/forward Sidney Lovitsch from Grayslake North High School has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career here at SXU. In Lovitsch’s junior season, she averaged 14.4ppg, 6.8rbg, 3.8stls, and 2apg. This stat line shows that Lovitsch is a very versatile player who can get it done on all facets of the court. She can get the points inside and out. Standing at 5-8 she can bang inside and get the team some gritty boards. Defense? Let’s just say Lovitsch is a master theif as she can pick anyone’s pocket for a quick steal. Lovitsch versatility, and love for the game shows that she can become an ample player for SXU in the years to come. If SXU was a problem last years, then there are evn more of a problem this year. With the coming of Lovitsch, SXU will be a problem for years to come, and you can sign that check and cash it.
