Kanye West Steals Spotlight from Beck at the Grammys
At the 57th Grammy Awards, Singer Beck won the award for Album of the Year and apparently that did not sit well with Kanye West. Kanye stormed the stage and ruined Beck’s shining moment and many assumed that it was a joke just like when he did the same thing to Taylor Swift back in 2009.
Think again people! Once the ceremony was over, Kanye had a lot to say. Kanye stated “Beck needs to respect artistry, and he should have given his award to Beyoncé”.
Many people then took to social media to bash Kanye for his ignorant antics. Shirley Manson, lead singer of the band Garbage, posted a letter on Facebook and said that Kanye is the one who is disrespecting artistry.
New England Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner brilliantly slammed Kanye on Twitter for his uncalled for actions. Beck seems to be fine with all of this though. He had no hard feelings for the rapper and he said that he respects him. In a nutshell, Beck deserved his award and Kanye needs to act like an adult.
Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special
Saturday Night Live is celebrated their 40th anniversary in a big way. It was announced back in April 2014 by NBC that they had a special in the works in honor of the celebration. At the time, they did not release any names of the cast members, celebrities, or musicians that would be returning. Not too long ago, the star-studded line up of names was released and it did not disappoint.
A grand total of 114 were announced to return to the legendary show and many familiar faces came to the extravaganza. Lorne Michaels, creator and executive producer of SNL, stated “Sometimes the pace isn’t what you’d think. But it will be more than made up by the fact that all of those people will be in the same room at the same time. On that sort of level, of it being an extended family, I think it will be very powerful”. The special did an outstanding job bringing back beloveded characters and eveyone seemed to have a good time. All in all, the night was filled with reminiscing, memories, and of course, lots of laughter.

Some sad news was released last Tuesday that stunned many people. After 16 years, Jon Stewart announced his retirement at the end of this year from The Daily Show. In the emotional announcement, Stewart stated “In my heart, I know it is time for someone else”.
Many took to social media to express their shock and sadness about his departure. Comedy Central released a statement via Twitter saying “For the better part of the last two decades, we have had the incredible honor and privilege of working with Jon Stewart, his comedic brilliance is second to none.
Jon has been at the heart of Comedy Central, championing and nurturing the best talent in the industry, in front of and behind the camera”. Jon Stewart and his comedic genius will surely be missed by many people across the nation.
