It is yet again time for another Quest Retreat! For those who may not be familiar with Quest, it is a retreat for first-year and transfer students hosted by Campus Ministry. It is a great retreat that will help first-year students connect with their fellow peers and learn more about one another. Retreats on campus are a wonderful experience for anyone to open up more about their emotions, reflect on certain aspects of their life so far, and feel a great sense of community. Quest is a three-day retreat that will be held both virtually and on-campus. More information will be revealed on TheDen regarding this upcoming event. Additionally, a Spring 2021 Quest Application is available on TheDen and is required for registration. The retreat will start on Friday, February 26th, from 5:15 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom. Saturday, February 27th, the first half of the day will be virtual from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm and then will be an in-person session from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Finally, on Sunday, February 28th, the retreat will conclude in-person from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

All the in-person activities will be held safely that will follow CDC guidelines to keep everyone healthy and protected from COVID-19. I spoke with two of the Quest Retreat leaders, Antonio Elijah and Marcy Herrera, and they are both very excited about this upcoming retreat. Marcy has shared, “Quest is definitely my favorite retreat, and I look forward to meeting all the first year and transfer students who decide to join us!” Campus Ministry retreats are an incredible way to immerse yourself in Saint Xavier University, and it creates a strong sense of community for many who are new on campus.

In times of a global pandemic and virtual classes, it is hard to feel connected to other students or spend a lot of time on campus. Elijah went on to say, “this retreat will be a great time for unity and connection, as well as a time for a refreshing restart or much- needed break from the academic stress of college.” There is so much to look forward to on this retreat. The time spent to plan this event has been abundant in hopes that it will be a success for all the students participating.

If this sounds intriguing to you, be sure to continue to be on the lookout for any new information and consider signing up for a retreat that will acclimate you to the Saint Xavier campus and community. There is so much time, and dedication put into these retreats to make sure they are enjoyable and valuable, so please take the time to learn more about them and how they could leave a positive impact on your experience at Saint Xavier. Who knows, maybe you can meet one of your closest friends on this retreat!  Overall, there will be several opportunities to share your insights through personal stories from leaders and colleagues, to your personal experiences. This may help you reflect, learn, and grow as a person as you continue your education and post-graduate life.
