Canadian singer-songwriter’s calm, yet catchy, indie rock melodies can easily put you into a relaxed state-of-mind. Peter Peter made a name for himself in Montreal after winning the “Ma Premiere Place des Arts” festival back in 2008, and signed under the Audiogram record label in 2009. Each track shares many similar qualities, but a few throw in edgy Saxophone solos that truly add to listening experience. The entire album is sung in the French language, but you don’t need to understand the language to appreciate the modern, mellow vibes and soft-spoken lyrics that Peter Peter puts you through. The tracks that stuck out the most include: “Une Version Amelioree de la Tristesse,” “Carrousel,” and “Reverbere.” This is album is not something I recommend if you’re looking to pump yourself up or “rock out,” but if you had a stressful day or need some background music to focus on your studies this would be a great addition to your music collection.
