Party Ideas For Super Bowl LI

Super Bowl LI is just a few days away and it is time to start planning for the big game. Don’t have time to come up with a game plan? I got you covered! Here are some food, décor, and game ideas to keep your guests happy and entertained.

Food

Crack Dip

3 oz. Bacon bits                                           1 cup Cheddar cheese

1 (2 oz.) packet Ranch dressing mix              16 oz. Sour cream

Probably the simplest appetizer to make in the world, all you have to do is throw all of these ingredients in a bowl, mix it up, and it is ready to serve. It only took me less than five minutes to make this dip and it tasted great. Even though it is already cold enough when you prepare it, placing it in the refrigerator for a little bit wouldn’t hurt. This dip is delicious and addictive and it will have your guests going back for more.

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Footballs

½ cup creamy peanut butter                          1 cup+ powdered sugar

3 tablespoons salted butter, softened              8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

These footballs will definitely be flying off the plate! These are very easy to make but can be a little tricky. I found that it would probably be best to allow the footballs to stay in the fridge as long as possible before covering them in chocolate. They seemed firm when I left them in the fridge for about an hour but some “deflated” when I started to dip them in the chocolate. They ended up tasting great but I was a little disappointed with the outcome (which is why I had to use the picture of how they are supposed to look). You know what the coaches say, practice makes perfect. Maybe next year I will be able to perfect them. If you want to give these a go, here are the complete directions.

Chicken Parmesan Sliders

1 lb. Breaded chicken, tenders                    2 cup Pasta sauce

1 tsp. Garlic powder                                   3 tbsp. Butter

1 tsp. Italian seasoning                              ½ cup Parmesan cheese

2 cup Mozzarella cheese                             16 slider buns

Finger foods are always a must when it comes to the Super Bowl and nothing is easier then these chicken parmesan sliders. This only takes a total of 35 minutes to complete and the ingredients are simple. To save time, buy chicken tenders from the store instead of making them yourself. Make sure to read the step by step instructions on how to make these tasty little sliders here.

Décor

Football Party Mason Jars – These cute and easy mason jars can be used for either holding straws, silverware or can simply be used as centerpieces on your table. There are four different designs that you can create: a football, a football field, a referee uniform, and a game plan chalkboard. Here are the materials that you will need: 4 pint sized mason jars, paint brushes, primer, black paint, green paint (will also need this in acrylic), burnt umber paint, sandpaper, white paint pen, tape, closure strips, number stickers, referee whistle, and a clear coat sealant in matte finish. Now you do not have to exactly follow everything that the directions tell you. If you cannot find the materials or want to make this DIY simpler, then feel free to disregard some of them. For full directions and specific names of the materials, visit the website where I got the idea from here.

Photo Booth – This DIY is much easier than you think. If you can find a plastic tablecloth with a football field design on it from Party City (which is what I found a lot of people did on Pinterest) for example, you are almost done! If you cannot find this tablecloth at the store, simply use a plain plastic one and you can decorate yourself or you can come up with a different backdrop out of other materials. Now it is time for props to use in your photos. If you search in Pinterest “printable super bowl props”, you will find an assortment of props that you can print out on cardstock and attach to wooden rods. If you want to be really creative, design your own props or find football related items at the store.

Game Day Paper Chains – We all remember making this type of craft back in elementary school and now it is time to put those skills to use. For this DIY, all you need is some paper, scissors, glue, and tape. I found printable football and football patterned paper on this blog or you can use the Patriots or Falcons team colors to complete the chain. Simply cut out strips of the paper, glue the ends, and link them around each other and your craft is complete. Finish it by hanging over a door, on a wall, or on a fireplace.

Games

Commercial Bingo – Commercials are always a big part of the Super Bowl and what better way to make it interesting than to make a game out of it. Online, they have printable commercial bingo cards that you can print out with the companies’ logos on them or you can create your own. If you want to change it up a little bit, fill in the squares with things that pertain to the actual football game like if one team gets a penalty in whatever quarter of the game, one of the teams gets a touchdown, etc.

“Kick” The Football Through the Field Goal – Pin the tail on the donkey in a whole new way. Just create a field goal using painters tape on your wall, make footballs using cardstock, grab some tape and a blindfold and you are all set. Whoever gets their football in the center of the field goal wins.
