Want to get involved on campus but do not know where to start? Looking for the perfect activity that fits your interests? Get to know OrgSync, Saint Xavier’s student resource that helps you find and keep up with the organizations you plan to join.
Not many students are familiar with this helpful tool, which is able to aid in both finding a new activity and keeping up with the ones you are already in. According to the official OrgSync website, “students have personalized news-feeds, making it easier to stay informed and up-to-speed on activities and events in their organizations. OrgSync centralizes all the information students need into one platform, allowing them to more effectively manage their organization memberships and track their co-curricular involvement.”
Located under ‘myApplications’ in the upper right hand side of the student portal, OrgSync takes a small amount of time to set up, and is rather self-explanatory.
Once you are signed in, you can browse through the organizations offered at SXU, look through the calendar for upcoming activities, or read about certain programs that might interest you.
While browsing through your options, each activity will have a short description at the bottom of their box. Some of these include ‘academic,’ ‘honorary,’ ‘spiritual,’ or ‘hobby.’
These descriptions may help you make a decision based on what you are interested in.
These results will come up when selecting the “Browse Organizations” window, where you can read through a list of the programs offered.
Ranging from the list of intramurals to the American Chemical Society to the Psychology Club, there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Once you join an activity, add it to your OrgSync profile.
As noted on the OrgSync website, “you will be able to track your involvement history including event participation and meeting attendance. From one location you can now see all of your interactions with organizations and departments on campus.”
Another beneficial aspect to OrgSync is that you can choose how you would like to be reminded about meetings or other upcoming, important dates.
Many students on campus utilize OrgSync to stay in touch with clubs they may be involved in or activities on campus.
OrgSync itself is an online tool utilized by many colleges and universities today who wish to provide their students with another tool to stay organized with happenings around campus.
Currently all students have access to the service and are encouraged to use the free service to them by the university.
OrgSync is a beneficial tool, customizable, and easy to use when it comes to keeping up with activities.
Though it is not well known across the student body of SXU, it is helpful for those who use it and keep up with it.
