Northwest Community Credit Union Moving to the Graham School of Management

The Graham School of Management announced that Northwest Community Credit Union will be moving inside the Graham School of Management. This will make it easier for students to learn how to become members, about how to be financially literate, and take advantage of all that a credit union has to offer.

Kassandra Torres, an intern at the North West Community Credit Union, states, She has been an intern for Northwest Community Credit Union since February 2020. She controls the social media pages and also presents financial literacy presentations  Through this internship, Torres has “learned more about how loans, credit cards, mobile banking, and so much more by being a member and employee for the credit union. I truly believe I have learned a lot of vital information that will continue to benefit me in the future.”

Torres continues, “We offer all sorts of loans: auto, personal, home, student, etc. We also offer checking and savings accounts along with a mobile banking app to keep up to date with your accounts. I think the most important service that we offer to students and all members of the credit union are financial literacy modules. Financial literacy modules are found on our website; they are free, easy and fun to go through, and teach you a ton about how to use your money wisely to lead to a bright financial future.”

Anyone affiliated with Saint Xavier can become a member. It also extends to other communities and organizations within the area. Torres continued “Any student at SXU can become a member of the credit union, and they can continue to be a member even after they graduate.”

Torres went on to say, “The previous location was in a little house next door to the Graham School of Management, but we noticed that it did not receive much attention from students because a lot of students were not aware of its location or purpose. Having it in the Graham School of Management because it will gain much more exposure to students, and there will always be someone in the location ready to help a student that wants to become a member or answer any questions they may have about the credit union.”

There will be pamphlets that students can take with them that will contain information about the credit union and the services we offer.” Torres stated.

Torres concludes, “To learn more about the credit union and even become a member yourself, you can go to nwccu.com.
