Time to get those dancing shoes and friends together once again because Chicago’s very own North Coast Music Festival just announced their 2021 lineup. It is their eleventh anniversary and will take place during the Labor Day weekend, Sept. third through the fifth at the SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
Tickets went on sale March 26, 2021 with 3-Day General Admission, and VIP passes. You may still have time to purchase tickets.
With an incredible lineup, who wouldn’t want to attend this EDM fest? You have Chris Lake, Rezz, Chicago natives Kaskade and Louis The Child. This is a dream lineup in my opinion.
Below are live sets by artists performing at North Coast

They are adding sanitizing and handwashing stations throughout the fest, staff will be disinfecting surfaces, contactless payment methods will be in effect, mask mandates/health screenings will be required, and there will be a modification in security searches to minimize contact.
But who knows if people will actually comply with the mask mandate. You dance, you pant, and you get thirsty. Festival goers will eventually get sick or even get rid of the mask if it inflicts on their concert experience.
North Coast’s message to their EDM community is “that there are no guarantees in life, but experiencing live music with others is our life, so we’re optimistically giving this a shot.” I am loving the positive message, but we really don’t know how our reality is going to look like five months from now.
Their message, plan, and lineup truly is tempting, but we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Not everyone has the intention of being vaccinated and there are people opposed to the mask mandate, so how does this affect North Coast and it’s festival goers?
Would it be safer for the festival to have their guests provide proof of receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, or a negative test before entry? Or are they just going to wing it and hope everyone doesn’t catch COVID?
The meaning of music festivals and concerts has forever changed. Yet North Coast and other festivals like EDC Las Vegas are trying their best to bring this euphoric scene back to reality, and people are on board with it.
Are festival goers bracing themselves for a beautiful concert experience or a positive COVID test? Is it too soon for huge gatherings like these to occur again? What do you think?
