Men’s Volleyball Ends Season

To finish out their season, the Saint Xavier men’s volleyball team played Lourdes University in the Mid-America Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) East Division Tournament on Friday, April 5.

The Cougars fell to Lourdes in three matches with scores of 25-12, 25-16 and 25-23. This loss eliminated SXU from the tournament and ended their season.

On the offensive side of the match, freshman middle blocker Sam Kull had a nice game. He led the Cougars with 11 kills on the night. Junior outside hitter Justin Cousin followed Kull with eight kills throughout the match.

Sophomore setter Dan French also had a nice game. He finished with 25 assists and a service ace.

Defensively, junior libero Dan Nelson led the team with nine digs. Cousin chipped in six.

The Cougars final record is 6-21 overall. They went 3-9 in conference, finishing fifth out of seven teams in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC).

Saint Xavier University will look to build going forward into the upcoming seasons and try to go deeper into the MAMVIC tournament next season. Good Luck Cougars!
