Lollapalooza 2024

SZA At Lollapalooza 2023                     Tribune Content Agency

From Aug. 1 through the 4th, Lollapalooza will be taking place in Grant Park. At the festival, there will be 170 bands performing across eight stages and a wide host of artists coming together to celebrate music and the surrounding culture.

Lollapalooza is an annual music festival and a staple of Chicago summers. Formerly a traveling festival, it made a permanent home in Chicago and has since grown to be one of the biggest events of the festival season. This year will see a diverse list of classic and rising acts come together for the weekend.

Headlining on the first day will be Tyler, The Creator and Hozier. On the second day, it will be SZA and Stray Kids. The third day will see The Killers and Future X Metro Boomin. Blink-182 and Melanie Martinez will close out the festival as the headliners for the last day.

Also playing at the festival will be artists such as Laufey with the Chicago Philharmonic, Pierce The Veil, Ethel Cain, Faye Webster, and Kenny Beats.

Tickets went on presale on March 21 at 10 a.m. Central Time.

General Admission tickets give festival-goers access to all the performances, food on sale from “award-winning chefs & restaurants”, bars, and free water stations. Likewise, there will be sponsor areas where patrons can win giveaways, shops selling merch, and lockers to rent.

GA+ tickets allow access to exclusive lounges, bars, food, restrooms, and other amenities. VIP tickets give access to more exclusive lounges, food and drink areas, as well as shuttle transportation between northern and southern lounges and dedicated viewing areas for performances.

Finally, platinum tickets grant access to front row viewing at six stages, access to premium food service and bars, as well as two premium lounges.

Platinum ticket holders also get presale access to Lollapalooza Aftershows and an exclusive festival gift, on top of other amenities. Each tier provides the benefits of the last, with platinum tickets giving patrons everything Lollapalooza will have to offer.

There is merchandise available on the Lollapalooza website, such as shirts, hats, tank tops and sweaters. The site also features merch from past Lollapalooza festivals as far back as 2020.

The website also links to the Crew Fare, where those attending the festival can find a place to stay for its duration.

Not much is known about this iteration of the festival at this time, including the schedule for each day and the layout of the festival grounds, but those who want more information are advised by the support website to look to Lollapalooza 2023 for reference.
