Dear Lauren,
All of my friends are graduating this May, but I won’t be graduating until December. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Forever Alone
Dear Forever Alone,
I’m sorry to hear that all of your friends are graduating before you and leaving you in the dust, but I’m sure you can make it one more semester without seeing them in the hallways.
You know, just because they are graduating, it doesn’t mean that you can never see them again.
I’m sure most of them would be perfectly willing to meet up with you for a cup of coffee or for dinner. Or maybe even just to hang out, because they aren’t dead, they are just past another part of their lives.
You also could take this last semester to maybe make a few new friends or rekindle old friendships with people you may have fell out of touch with.
Or the last option I can give you is to just keep your head down and study hard so you can get the most out of your last semester.
Good luck and remember to always listen to Lauren!
Letter from Lauren:
I would just like to say thank you for all of your submissions over the past year. And even if you did not send a question, I hope that some of my advice helped you if you found yourself looking for answers to questions you didn’t even know you needed answers to…or something like that. I have enjoyed pretending to play therapist for all of your problems and hopefully my successor will take his or her shot at a sarcastic and sometimes helpful advice column.
Have a fantastic summer.
