Karol G Blossoms in New Album “KG0516”

Self love, heartache, and womxn empowerment all squeezed into 16 tracks. Colombian singer/songwriter Karol G released her third album KG0516 and did not come to play.

KG0516 signifies the date Karol G signed her first record deal. It contains features by Nicki Minaj, Anuel AA, Camilo, Nathy Peluso and more.

Karol G went on a journey in KG0516. Her confidence, vulnerabilities, and heartaches all reflected here.

These are the six tracks I currently cannot get enough of in KG0516.

Gato Malo

“No quiero volver a llorar, no pienso humillarme otra vez, lo que no quería aceptar por fin hoy lo pude entender que todo tiene su final…”

“I don’t want to cry again, I won’t humiliate myself again, what I didn’t want to accept, finally I could understand it today, that everything has its end…”

Time to wipe away the tears and accept the outcome for what it is. Gato Malo (Bad Cat) ft. Nathy Peluso is the final realization someone has after a failed relationship/situationship.

Everything comes to an end, but something always begins. Karol and Nathy support one another here and make something magical out of a negative outcome.

“One day you loved me, the next you didn’t, I swear I don’t understand, trying not to lose my sanity, but here I keep myself together…”

Karol G performed El Barco on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon physically keeping herself “together” on a boat, which is el barco. It sways, you lose balance, and can eventually get knocked down. This is her interpretation of losing her first love.

Bichota

“No importa cuánto me golpeen, no me importa, el que me enfrentó no se puede escuchar desde aquí…”

“No matter how much they hit me up, I don’t care, the one that fronted me can’t be heard from here…”

Time to bring in that boss energy in Bichota (Big shot), it exudes confidence and growth. The perfect song to empower and feel yourself. Karol G goes out well dressed and is well aware that nobody can handle her impeccable aura.

Tusa

“Ya no tiene excusa, hoy salió con su amiga, dizque pa matar la tusa, que porque un hombre le pagó mal..”

“There is no excuse, today she went out with her friend to kill her heartbreak, because a guy did her wrong…”

Karol G skyrocketed when hit single Tusa (Heartbreak) ft. Nicki Minaj transmitted through the wounded hearts of many souls. Feeling down but want to uplift your vibe at the same time? Play Tusa, it is perfect for reminiscing an ex lover.

Karol G soothes you with a soft angelic force and sweet violin strings setting you at ease. Then Nicki comes in and reassures you that it’s their loss, not yours, in an aggressive yet empowering tone.

Location

“Estamo’ to’a soltera’, el amor no e’ bienvenido, no necesito un hombre, yo misma sola me cuido…”

“We’re all single and love isn’t welcome, I don’t need a man, I take care of myself…’

Location took an immediate turn down South embodying a country style tone. Karol G collaborated with the king of “colores,” J Balvin and speculated ex fiancé Anuel AA. According to etonline Karol G and Anuel AA Split After 2 Years Together: Report

Who knows how accurate their split is, but all we know is that she may be singing Tusa now more than ever.

In Location all three of them have bad intentions while rocking Chanel all night long. It’s catchy, upbeat, and definitely gets the vibe going. They are ready to go out and make “bad” decisions and live the “single” life, but have a sprinkle of hope that someone will send them their location..

Contigo Voy A Muerte

“No tiene sentido que nos odiemos bebé, yo sé que te pasa igual, sentir lo mismo por otro no podemos, entonces ¿para qué inventar?”

“It doesn’t make sense that we hate each other baby, you know I feel the same, we are not able to feel this way with someone else, so why do we have to try?”

In Contigo Voy A Muerte (I Would Die For You) ft. Camilo, two lovers are battling one another after an intense separation. They know very well that they belong to each other, but their pride has dominated them.

A mix of emotions. One minute you’re up and dancing, the next you’re getting intact with your feelings. That’s life, you grow, you evolve, and you keep moving forward. Karol G is an expert at that.

KG0516  is available on all streaming platforms.
