Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th. As every year, Saint Xavier University will host events on campus to commemorate Hispanic Heritage. Below is a list of the events that will be taken place.

September 15th. Hispanic Heritage month kickoff
Chicano Bachateros will give latin dance lessons at the Diner Atrium from 11am to 1pm.
Thursday food specials
Every Thursday, throughout Hispanic Heritage month, the diner will have special food options.
September 20th. Bilingual mass in Spanish and English
Mass will be held at noon in the McDonough Chapel joined by Father William Lego from St. Turibius Parish.
September 24th. Trip to the National Museum of Mexican Art
The trip will be from 1pm to 4pm and transportation provided. Sign ups are in the Student Life office.
September 28th. Learn about HACU
HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities) will be in the student lounge at noon providing information about internships with the federal government.
September 30th. Chicago White Sox game
Sign up in the Student Life office. Cost is $5 for the ticket and transportation.
October 1st. Pack the Stands!
SXU women’s soccer team will play against Judson University at 5:30pm in the Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field.
October 1st. Super Saturday “El Carnaval de SXU”
From 8am to 11pm Chicanos Bachateros, UNIDOS, RSOs and SXC will host a fun carnival that will feature games, music and lots of fun.
October 5th. Film Showing: “Precious Knowledge”
The documentary will film at 6:30pm in the McGuire Hall followed by a discussion.
October 11. Manos a la obra con UNIDOS
UNIDOS will host arts and crafts from 11am to 1pm in the student lounge.
October 12th. Latino alumni leaders career panel
SXU alumni will share their experience after graduation. Join them at the Butler Reception at 5pm.
