Fifteen years ago, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone introduced us to the wonderful world of wizards, witches, and Hogwarts. The Harry Potter series continued to captivate fans for years until it finally reached its conclusion in 2011 with The Deathly Hallows, Part 2.
Seeing the Harry Potter movies for the first time on the big screen was an amazing experience. I remember seeing the third movie, Prisoner of Azkaban, at a young age. I was amazed at the stunning visuals and the freighting appearance of the soul-sucking Dementors. The movie still holds up today and is still my favorite Harry Potter movie in the franchise.
When people told me they hadn’t watched the Harry Potter movies, I was outraged and told them they needed to watch them as soon as they could. Now, whenever someone tells me they haven’t watched the movies, I get jealous. I wish I could experience the world and story of Harry Potter for the first time again. I could watch the movies again, but watching them on my 26-inch screen doesn’t match up to seeing it on the big screen. If only there was a way I could see all of the movies on the big screen again. What if I told you there was a way?
Starting on October 13th, all eight Harry Potter films will be available in IMAX theaters. They will only be available for one week. Warner Bros. is releasing all the films again to hype up their new movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which takes place decades before the original story.
I highly recommended watching the Harry Potter movies on the big screen; if you have not already seen them. If you have any younger relatives who have no idea who Harry Potter is, I suggest you take them along for the ride. Who knows? Harry Potter could become your new favorite series.
