Greetings from the Indiana Comic Convention

From March 22 to 24, the Indiana Comic Convention was held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. This year just so happened to be the convention’s tenth anniversary, and due to this it was their biggest year ever.

Many fandoms were represented through celebrity guests. These included “Star Wars,” “Daredevil,” “Stranger Things,” and many more. The four biggest celebrities in attendance were Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano), Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), and Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna/001).

As I first walked onto the show floor, I was immediately surrounded by booths selling collector items. There were hundreds of Funko Pops, action figures, and comic books scattered around. It was glorious, especially seeing the many cosplayers.

Out of all fandoms, I saw the most cosplayers representing the “Daredevil” franchise and “Indiana Jones.” A close runner-up happened to be “Gravity Falls” which surprised me.

One of my favorite things to do at conventions is get autographs. This time around, I decided to get autographs exclusive to “Star Wars: Rebels.”

Pictured above is my poster, now signed by the voices of Ezra, Hera, C-3PO, and even the creator of Grand Admiral Thrawn, Timothy Zahn. Additional autographs will be put on it at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in April.

While doing this I found out that Taylor Gray, the voice of Ezra Bridger, was supposed to be portraying the character in “Ahsoka.” It was quite an interesting moment, and he mentioned that producer/creator Dave Filoni had no control over Disney’s decision to recast the character.

Additionally, I got to meet someone I have been looking forward to meeting for years: Charlie Cox. He was very kind and spent time with his fans even though his line was extremely long. Throughout this process, I watched a gift be given to him, and he was incredibly happy.

Seeing celebrities being down to Earth with fans is something that makes me feel warm-hearted.

Ever since the comic-con season ended, I have missed the atmosphere of excitement, the smell of popcorn and churros, and the sight of items my bank account cannot support.

Up next in the comic-con calamity is C2E2, where I will also report on the fun.

Indiana Comic Convention will take place next on March 14 to 16, 2025. Tickets will be found on their website soon.
