Green Day fans rejoice! On Tuesday, September 6, Green Day announced their North American and European tour dates to promote their upcoming album, Revolution Radio, which will be released on October 7. Instead of rocking out in major arenas, the band will be performing in numerous clubs in the cities that they will be visiting.
This will be the band’s 12th studio album, and comes after the successful release of their new single, “Bang Bang”. According to Billboard, this is Green Day’s fourth No. 1 on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart, and the single rose to the top rather quickly, making it a rare achievement. The song was inspired by the numerous mass shootings that have recently occurred across America.
Lately, bands that seemed to have disappeared are making a comeback. Green Day obviously being one of them, Blink-182, who released their successful seventh studio album back in July, and Good Charlotte, who also released a new album in July. Regardless of the amount of time they have been away, it has definitely been worth the wait.
