It was on this day that both the Men and Women’s golf team would compete again in the Kohler Collegiate Classic. All the days that have passed from the last tournament have been spent conditioning both teams for success in this tournament. Let’s see if it paid off.

Women

Out of 10 total teams, the SXU women’s golf team finished 6th overall. Senior Taylor Thompson was the standout in this one as she finished with a total score of 154 (79 on day one and 75 on day two) good enough for a finish of 3rd overall. The Cougars overall finished with a total team score of 686 (342 on day one and 344 on day 2). Overall, a solid outing for the girls who look to improve for the next tournament.

Men

The men finished 19th out of 20 total teams. Freshman Matthew Clark led the way for the team tying for 41st place with a score of 157 (73 on day one and 54 on day two). As a team, the Cougars finished with a score of 616 (335 on day one and 281 on day two). Not the best performance form the men’s team, but they still have a lot of time till next tournament to improve and continue to progress to their eventual standing as the top dogs in the golf world.

Like I said, both teams have some ways away till their next tournament on March 7, 2017. For a recap of that tournament and many exciting other ones keep it locked here at the Xavierite.
