Five Ways to Celebrate Easter on Campus

Since Easter is quickly approaching, many students won’t have the opportunity to return home to spend the holiday with their families. However, in case you can’t, here are five ways to celebrate Easter with friends on campus or individually! 

Host an Easter Potluck 

Nothing says Easter like a good potluck dinner with friends. It’s simple; each friend can bring a dish to share with the group; this way, there are multiple dishes to choose from, and everyone can get what they like. To make the potluck more entertaining, you can also add a variety of board or card games to play together; this way, everyone can enjoy entertainment along with their food! 

Decorate 

Decorating is a quick and easy way to get into the Easter spirit. Start by decorating your door and the side of the room in your dorm. Along the walls, you can hang plastic/paper colorful eggs, bunny ears, plastic bunnies, and fake grass. Each decoration will play a part in creating a colorful themed Easter room that is bound to get you and your roommate in the holiday spirit! 

Create College-Themed Easter Baskets 

What better way to celebrate Easter than by  exchanging college-themed Easter Baskets? College-themed Easter baskets are just like regular ones but with valuable college items that your friends can use. You can create your college Easter basket by adding notebooks, Starbucks gift cards, hair ties, and anything else you believe is college essential! 

Do Some Spring Cleaning 

Although this may not sound as fun as the other suggestions, spring cleaning is a great way to get in the Easter spirit by doing some early cleaning. For many people, spring cleaning is actually highly beneficial to their mental health, and could be a solution to a fresh start. According to Vogue Magazine, “Many people find cleaning to be very satisfying, but also a very good way of managing stress or anxiety.” This way, you will get a head start on cleaning, but having your space clean will leave you with a clear and fresh mind. 

Easter Baking 

If you have a lot of time to spare, baking is a great way to spend that time! Here is an easy and quick recipe for bunny sugar cookies! Here’s what you’ll need: 2 and 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour (spoon & leveled), 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature, 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar one large egg, at room temperature, and two teaspoons pure vanilla extract. Grab these ingredients, and you are ready to bake!
