A new month has approached, which means it’s time for a fresh batch of eagerly anticipated movies in 2023! Here are five movies that have generated a lot of excitement ahead of their release.
Air (April 5th)
Based on real events, this sports drama sees Ben Affleck’s return to the director’s chair. With Matt Damon as Sonny Vaccaro, the marketing executive who secured the sale, Affleck plays Nike co-founder Phil Knight who pursues basketball rookie Michael Jordan, creating a partnership that revolutionizes the world of sports and contemporary culture.
Super Mario Bros (April 7th)

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, and Chris Meledandri of Illumination (“Despicable Me”) are producing this big-screen adaptation of the iconic Nintendo character and his friends. Chris Pratt plays the well-known Goomba-stomping plumber who arrives in the Mushroom Kingdom and meets Keegan-Michael Key’s Toad. Anya Taylor-Joy will play Princess Peach, Jack Black, and Seth Rogen will play Bowser and Donkey Kong, respectively, with Charlie Day playing Luigi.
Guardians of the Galaxy (May 5th)

James Gunn, the writer-director of “The Suicide Squad” from 2021, is back with the new Guardians. Will Poulter will be portraying Adam Warlock, who was alluded to at the end of Vol. 2. Peter Quill, who is still in shock at Gamora’s death, must gather his crew to defend the universe and safeguard a member of their own family. The Guardians as we know them may be put to an end if the operation is not entirely successful.
Fast X (May 19th)
The fastest and fiercest franchise is currently on its eleventh chapter, and this is only part one. (Part two, reported to be the series’s final installment, will be released in 2024.) Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of the family, will return to continue doing what they do best. They now have to deal with the worst foe they have ever encountered: a deadly menace that is driven by retaliation, emerges from the past to ruin Dom’s world and everyone and everything he loves.
The Little Mermaid (May 26th)

The cast of this live-action adaptation of the beloved Disney tale about a fish out of water is particularly inspired, featuring Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Ariel (played by Halle Bailey) the youngest of King Triton’s daughters, is a charming and vivacious young mermaid with a desire for exploration. Ariel visits the surface out of a yearning to learn more about the world above the water and falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric. She follows her heart and strikes a deal with Ursula, the wicked sea witch, to experience life on dry land.
