With Valentine’s Day just a few weeks away, I figured I would throw out some ideas for a perfect movie date with your significant other or movie night with a group of friends (who am I to tell you who to see these movies with or when to see them; it does not even have to be for Valentine’s Day). There is an array of drama, comedy and love to be found in the movies coming to theaters in February.
February 1st-Warm Bodies.
Vampire romance movies have been done. Werewolf romances have been done. Now it is time for…a zombie romance movie!
Warm Bodies is not your typical undead love story. R, a zombie, sees Julie, an uninfected human survivor, and it is love-at-first-failed-attempt-by-her-to-shoot-him.
R is slowly starting to turn human again. However, R and Julie’s love has to overcome a few obstacles, such as the fact that R is still undead, vicious monsters that will attack anything with a pulse and Julie’s dad (the worst of all).
Will R’s transformation be complete? Will it be able to cure the other zombies? The better question is when will I be able to go see it?
February 8th-Identity Thief.
Jason Bateman is a victim of identity theft, and Melissa McCarthy is reaping all the benefits in this comedic game of cat and mouse.
Sandy (Bateman) is a business man who lives in Denver. He is shocked to find that all of his funds have been drained from his credit card. He discovers that someone has been making purchases in Florida using his identity.
He heads down to the Sunshine State to face his identity thief (see how clever I am using the title of the movie in my summary).
He finds the culprit, Diana (McCarthy) but she is not willing to go down without a fight. Sandy has to try to get Diana all the way to Denver, and he only has a week to do it before his life comes crashing down on him.
February 14th -Beautiful Creatures.
Lena is a new girl in town, and she is not receiving a warm welcome. Students in her class whisper about her and her family, ”I’ve heard that they’re all Satanists”.
This is not quite true. Lena and her family are casters, which most people would call witches. When a caster turns 16, their powers are either claimed for the dark or the light, and Lena has only a few months until she has to choose a life of good or a life of evil.
To make matters worse, an evil caster wants to use Lena’s power to take control of the planet away from regular humans and give it to herself.
Even Lena’s love for Ethan, a boy from the town, proves dangerous as she faces a decision that will change the course of humanity.
