Welcome to Saint Xavier University, the home of the Cougars. We are pleased you chose to join our SXU family. SXU is a Catholic, Mercy institution inspired by the Sister of Mercy. As a community, we have been trusted to carry on the great legacy of the Sisters of Mercy and live by the Mercy values that guided the Sisters before us.
Saint Xavier University has a history of academic excellence as a teaching-focused and student-centered institution. We value the gifts you bring with you and we understand the challenges you might face as you start your college adventure. Many of our faculty and staff are the first to get a college degree in their families. We will challenge you and we will nurture your talents. We will offer you various opportunities to grow in mind, body, and spirit.
As you begin your academic journey, you’ll have a team of support to guide you throughout your time at SXU to build up your competence, strengthen your character, and prepare you for career success. Please remember that the most impactful learning happens when a student connects with a mentor and builds a trusting relationship that inspires them to learn and grow mentally and spiritually. I encourage you to get engaged- don’t be afraid or shy to ask for help. Ask questions in the classroom, visit faculty during office hours, contact your advisor with questions, or chat with your coach after practice. We are all invested in your success.
