Saint Xavier University announced that it will host a ‘Service Week’ from March 21 through the 25.
In a Feb. 17 email, Director of High Impact Practices Manal Kanaan, Ed.D., stated, “Students will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of [on-site and off-site] service learning opportunities reflected in SXU’s 5 Critical Concerns: Immigration, Earth, Racism, Women, Nonviolence.”
Students are also encouraged to partake in Mission Day, which is being held on Wednesday, March 23.
This annual event “spotlights the University’s core values of service, excellence, hospitality and integrity through the presentation of three service awards to individuals who exemplify these values,” as stated on the SXU website.
The three service awards will recognize one faculty member, staff member, and student. These include the Saint Xavier University Award, the Sister Isidore Perrigo, R.S.M. Award, and the Mother Paulita Morris, R.S.M Award.
For more information about Mission Day, campus community members may email the Executive Director of Mission and Heritage Jenny DeVivo, OblSB, Ph.D., at devivo@sxu.edu or call 773-341-5734.
Students are to contact Kanaan at kanaan@sxu.edu or call 773-298-3150 for any additional comments, questions, and concerns about Service Week events.
