It’s the week of Saint Xavier’s 2016 Homecoming and they have a lot in store to help get us Cougars fueled up for the week. Homecoming began this past Saturday, October 1, and lasts until Saturday, October 8. This gives the students one full week to take a short break from the books, relax, and enjoy the events taking place.
Each day of the week, an exciting event will take place. This past Saturday, on October 1, SXU had their 50th Reunion and an All Alumni Reunion. On October 2, the Homecoming 2016 Liturgy took place. October 6, The Power of Boundless Compassion event will take place. On October 7, the Cougars will have their very own Comedy Night. Also, the annual Heritage Ball will take place. Lastly, the students are mostly excited for Saturday, October 8. The Cougar 5k will take place this Saturday. Following that, SXU’s football team and women’s and men’s soccer team will have their Homecoming games.
This year, SXU is encouraging every single student to get up, get out, and have some fun during homecoming. Attending one of the many events will allow students to unwind their mind. For some, homework has started to pile up and midterms are approaching quickly. This week gives students the opportunity to take a break from the madness and have a little fun.
Homecoming is meant to be fun and full of school spirit. SXU strongly encourages students to pack the stands, show their best cougar pride, and attend each Homecoming game that will take place on Saturday, October 8. With your outstanding school spirit we are in hopes for a victorious ending with our athletic teams.
