A true crime documentary called, Unsolved Mysteries has joined Netflix’s Top 10 with the recent release of Volume 2. It has captured the attention of mystery lovers and the general public. This docu-series has been everything and anything everyone has been talking about on social media since its release. It caused an uproar among the public due to its release a couple weeks before Halloween. It was the perfect show to watch while getting ready for the spooky vibes Halloween has to offer. With or without Halloween, this docu-series deserves the exposure it receives. It goes into rare cases that have never been solved to this day. Which keeps its audience on the edge of their seats. Viewers are given a load of information, then left with the case being concluded as a mystery. It has frustrated, engaged and left its viewers with a chilled spine.
This docu-series dives into unsolved mysteries that were not given the proper exposure they deserved. It allows those affected by the mysteries presented, to share their story in hopes of gaining closure and exposure. It has left fans questioning why these cases were left unsolved. It is up to viewers to develop their own conclusions and thoughts to these cases. They leave viewers wondering why the case happened and what caused it. It makes its viewers become critical thinkers throughout the duration of each episode. Viewers tend to become their own Sherlock Holmes while watching these cases being presented. It sort of forces viewers to put themselves in the shoes of the investigators and loved ones affected. It maintains a great balance between the vast information, yet is empathic towards those who were affected by these unsolved cases.
Volume 2 dives into the mysteries of abducted children, a mother’s sudden death that was ruled a “suicide,” the death of White House aide Jack Wheeler that aimed toward a murder, what seemed to have been a suicide of a woman who did not want to be found, a death row fugitive that has never resurfaced to this day, and plenty more. The cases allow viewers to think critically and rationally. Each case is unique in its own way, this is what makes this docu-series so different from the rest. It knows how to keep its viewers engaged with the amount of diversity in each episode. Each episode provides insight and realization that these mysteries are inevitable and can happen to absolutely anyone. It is unfortunate to see the suffering families share their stories, but it provides room for mental expansion with these situations.
It is very nice to see this docu-series provide a safe space for the suffering families to share their stories with the world. Many cases like these go on without being recognized, which is completely heartbreaking. The cases and families have the ability to have their voices heard and hopefully receive help from the general public to receive some sort of closure. This docu-series is engaging for viewers and helpful to the loved ones affected. “Unsolved Mysteries” is just that, they cut right to the chase in their title and their goal is to shed light in each episode. If some cannot get enough of what Halloween season has to offer, and would like to question each case then watch this docu-series on Netflix.
