Sprinkles cupcakes bakery is the world’s first cupcake bakery that originated in Beverly Hills, California in 2015. Now Sprinkles can be found in several locations across the country, including Chicago, 50 E Walton St, Chicago, IL 60611. The bakery is open daily from 9am to 9pm and 10am to 8pm on Sundays.
The bakery offers delicious ice cream, freshly baked cookies, mini cupcakes, shakes, and cupcakes for dogs! All these goodies can be ordered online, including whole pints of ice cream. The ice cream flavors include coconut almond fudge, butter pecan, cookie dough, mango sorbet, salty caramel and many more. You have the choice between a sundae, cookie sandwich or regular/red velvet waffle cone.
The cookies range in flavors including chocolate chip, double chocolate, fudge brownie, salted oatmeal cornflake, and gluten free chocolate chip. These can be mixed with any flavored ice cream scoop(s).
But wait…there’s more awesomeness to this yummy bakery. Sprinkles Bakery has a cupcake truck that travels near its locations. You can even rent it out for special occasions such as birthday parties, weddings, bridal/baby showers, and more!
If that wasn’t enough, Sprinkles has a 24-hour cupcake ATM at select locations. In fact, Chicago is Sprinkle’s second Cupcake ATM. The machine looks a lot like an ATM found at a bank, except it dispenses cupcakes, not cash. All cupcake flavors are made that day, and include: Chocolate Coconut, Red Velvet, Vegan, Gluten-Free, S’mores, Dark Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Strawberry, and more. The machine also includes a Doggie Cupcake that has a sticker on the box with a bone on it. The cupcake has a little edible bone on top of the frosting, and is smaller than regular sized cupcakes so that you don’t get it confused with yours.
How the ATM works: When you get near the machine, a song starts playing. “I love Sprinkles! Yes, it’s True!” The machine is touch screen with pictures displayed of all cupcakes available. After you make your selection, swipe your credit card and wait for a live video pop onto the screen. Your cupcake is placed in a pink cylinder that rotates to open, and the cupcake of your choice is delivered to you in a small brown box with the Sprinkles label.
The ATM was designed after the founder of Sprinkles, Candace Nelson, had sweet cravings while pregnant. Thanks to those late night cravings, the Sprinkles ATM has lines forming in selected locations and doing a great deal for the bakery’s business. It has attracted many customers and celebrities and became one of the world’s greatest cupcake shop.
The bakery also introduced a loyalty program app that can be found in Apple Store or Play Store. The free app includes birthday rewards, a bakery locator, and Sprinkles Perks.
Each location is eco-friendly. The bakery boxes, shopping bags, and napkins are made out of recycled substances to help the environment. They also make all their sweets using high-quality dairy products that are produced from local farms. The bakery also provides vegan and gluten free options and makes sure that each Pupcakes are sugar free with appropriate dog ingredients.
The Bakery does special cupcake designs for holidays and seasons, from Halloween, to Thanksgiving, to Christmas. During October, Sprinkles celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness month with Cuppy, “The Good Advice Cupcake.” For every Strawberry Champagne cupcake sold, $0.50 is donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. These pink cupcakes are made from vanilla champagne cake with an infusion of buttercream frosting and ripe strawberries simmered in sparkling rose.
Sprinkles also offers a Halloween Theme ‘Boo Box’ of cupcakes with ghosts, monsters, goblins and BOO sugar decorations sealed with a BOO Cupcake sticker. These cupcake flavors are Pumpkin, Vanilla Milk Chocolate, Black and White, and Red Velvet.
The Fall Season also includes Vanilla ice cream with homemade Apple Pie swirl topped with graham cracker pie crust crumble. Yumm! The Pumpkin Cake is mixed with clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and fragrant ginger. It is topped with sweet cinnamon cream cheese frosting. This Pumpkin Cake is available until November 30th.
Whatever the season, Sprinkles Bakery will craft special boxes and make delicious cupcakes your sweet tooth desires for any occasion. They can include little quotes and sayings, initials, spelled out ‘Happy Birthday’ signs, and many more.
