Chicago’s Comic and Entertainment Expo, C2E2, returned with a mix of comics, cosplay, celebrity panels, and small businesses, offering something for everyone from lifelong fans to curious first-timers.

Highlights of the weekend included the opportunity to meet actors and voices behind iconic animated shows.

Stars included Elizabeth Olsen from the Marvel series “WandaVision,” Charlie Cox from Marvel’s “Daredevil,” and voice actors such as Tom Kenny, who voices SpongeBob in “SpongeBob SquarePants”, along with Matt Hill, Sam Vincent, and Tony Sampson from “Ed, Edd, and Eddy.”

They participated in panels where they shared behind-the-scenes stories, answered fan questions, and even signed autographs.

Fans left the panels having captured memories and gaining photos with the actors who brought their childhood favorites to life.

Beyond the celebrity panels, C2E2 showcased an array of vendors and small businesses. From handcrafted jewelry to comic prints and unique collectibles, visitors had the opportunity to shop for one-of-a-kind items while supporting independent creators.

The exhibitor halls were full of colorful displays where everything from comic prints to handmade trinkets could be found.

Cosplay was one of the most noticeable parts of the convention, with attendees dressed as characters from movies, video games, and comics.

The convention floor was full of a mix of characters from heroes to villains and everything in between. Fans showed off their creativity and dedication, and the energy was contagious, with spontaneous photoshoots and meetups around every corner.

Chicagoan Anthony Reed attended the convention dressed in “Hollow Knight” cosplay and said the event is something he looks forward to every year.

“It’s not just about buying stuff, it’s about being around people who like the same things you do,” Reed said.

Reed said cosplay takes a lot of time and effort, but it is worth it when people recognize the character.

“A lot of us spend months making these outfits, and when someone asks for a picture, that’s the best part,” he said. He added that he also enjoys buying from small vendors because you can find unique items and support independent artists.

In addition to panels and shopping, the convention included interactive experiences such as tattoo booths, where attendees had the opportunity to get small designs done during the event, adding a more permanent way to remember the weekend.

Fans could also participate in a build your own lightsaber booth, where they selected parts and assembled custom designs, making for a hands-on creative experience.

Another popular activity was live-action role-playing, also known as LARPing, where attendees used foam swords to act out battles and scenarios and brought fantasy elements to life in a fun and interactive way.

Additionally, the convention featured a free play arcade area where attendees could play classic arcade games at no cost, giving people a place to relax and enjoy retro games between panels and events.

In addition to panels and vendors, the event also featured live entertainment, including comedians and performances throughout the weekend.

Whether people came for the panels, cosplay, shopping, or entertainment, C2E2 2026 brought fans together to celebrate pop culture and community. From meeting iconic voice actors to watching detailed cosplay come to life, the convention offered moments that fans will remember for a lifetime.
