Athlete Spotlight: Suzie Broski

Q: Do you consider yourself a team leader?

A: I do, I would not say that I am a vocal person. I try to stay calm and I think in that sense I can keep the team calm and keep everyone under control. I try not to yell and I just try to keep positive.Broski

Q: Is there any game this season you wish you could have back and why?

A: There are a few games that I wish we could have back from this season. The two St. Francis games and the two Purdue Calumet games, because I do not believe that we should have lost to them at all, because I feel that we are a better team than them. That is just frustrating to know that we went 0-2 against both of those teams. Next year, I know we will come out ready to go against both of those two teams.

Q: If the game is tied at the end of the second half and Saint Xavier has the final possession, would you want the ball in your hands?

A: Definitely. I think my role on the team is to score and if it is tied at the end then I want that shot.

Q: Do you have any memorable games?

A: The Morningside game this year was really memorable because we had just come off of two losses against St. Francis and Purdue Calumet. We were in Florida and obviously Coach Hallberg was not too happy about our previous losses. We just came out fired up and they were a top ranked team and we just fed off of each other’s energy and we played really well.

Q: You are a Biology/Pre-Health major, what do you want to do with that?

A: I want to be a physical therapist and potentially do a little bit of personal training on the side.

Q: How have you enjoyed playing for Coach Hallberg?

A: I have really enjoyed Coach Hallberg, he is an awesome Coach and I learned so much from him in the two years that I have been here. I love his intensity and he really knows how to motivate us.

Q: If it was not for basketball, what would you be doing?

A: Probably studying a lot. I would probably live in the library so I think it is good that I play basketball.

Q: What is your preferred game time, afternoon or evening?

A: I like evening because you just have a whole day to get yourself mentally ready. I feel like afternoon games, you are not as prepared or you sleep in too late so I just really like the evenings.

Q: What is one thing you would love to do in your lifetime?

A: Travel. I have only been to places in the United States, but I think it would be really cool to travel to Europe, Italy or Greece.

Q: What is something that the typical person does not know about you?

A: I am a huge fan of Glee and in addition to being a Twilight fan, I am a fan of Glee and I am proud of it.
