Girl Scout cookie lovers rejoice! It was announced on Monday that General Mills will be releasing Girl Scout themed cereals in January 2017. So far, only two flavors have been confirmed and these cereals will only be out for a limited time. Let’s take a closer look at the two flavors that will be coming to a shelf near you.
The top selling Thin Mints will now be swimming in your cereal bowl! The thin, spearmint-flavored cookie was first introduced in 1951 and was formerly known as “Chocolate Mints”. The cereal box is obviously a mint green color, has some illustrations of miscellaneous objects in the background, and displays what the cereal looks like as well. This is sure to be a cookie lover’s dream!
The other cereal, Caramel Crunch, is based off the Caramel deLites (aka Samoas). Even though the cereal has a different name, it will most likely have the same taste as the beloved cookie. Samoas were released back in 1975 and since then they remain to be one of the top cookie flavors. This cereal box is purple, which also happens to be the color of the Carmel deLites/Samoas cookie box. One difference between the cookie and the cereal is that the cereal does not have the chocolate stripes on it like the cookie does. Regardless of the alteration, hopefully it will still taste good!
Both cereal boxes display the Girl Scout logo and has a bigger emblem of the Trefoil around the cereal name. As mentioned before, the cereals will be released in January 2017 and January also happens to be the start of the traditional cookie-selling season. This means you do not have to wait weeks to get your hands on your favorite cookies. Instead, you can eat them for breakfast in the form of cereal, what could be better?
