On October 27, the beloved Peanuts classic, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”, will celebrate its 50th anniversary. The animated special first aired on television in 1966 and since then it airs numerous times during the Halloween season. To celebrate this milestone, many events are taking place across the nation. Luckily, there are a few farms around the area that you can visit to join in on the fun. Here are just a few that you can travel to.

Many local farms across the nation are offering people to walk through their mazes inspired by the television special. If you want to experience this for yourself, then you are in luck. Odyssey Fun Farm in suburban Tinley Park has created their own maze which features Snoopy. The 15-acre maze also includes other designs like pumpkins, bats, and it even spells out “boo” in one portion of the maze. For more information, check out Odyssey Fun Farm’s website. Don’t forget your compass!

If you are willing to take a short trip to Indiana, be sure to stop by Harvest Tyme Pumpkin Patch. This farm has also created a maze to commemorate the anniversary of the special. Even though the maze is only 4-acres, the design of the maze is larger than life! The maze features Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, and at the top of the maze it says “50 The Great Pumpkin”. The maze also has a lookout bridge, perfect for taking photos of the entire maze. If you get lost, guides are scattered throughout the maze to help you find your way out.

Other local farms that are partaking in the Peanuts festivities include Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm and Kuipers Family Farm.

No tricks (or should I say rocks), just treats this Fall season in celebration of ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”. Will you be visiting any of these farms to take on the corn mazes?
