The Oblivion

By Jorge Pliego

Where am I?

Who are you?

It’s your ego, I’ve taken you to Oblivion.

Let’s have a chat.

I despise your every conscious move.

Hello?? you’re me and I am you.

I’m that one voice you chose to ignore

Ego why do you have me wrapped in straitjackets?

Call me insane, but I had this vision.

That I’ll lock you in a jail cell

and no longer will I be trapped in this asylum prison.

Maybe this is the reason you’ve decided to rid me

I admit I’m not right in the head.

but what makes you insane is keeping me held hostage.

You call me a demon, a monster.

Well you shouldn’t have wandered down yonder.

For you’ve reached a place of uncertainty.

Now I have you.

I will trap you in a forgotten cabin.

Now try to escape, don’t bother, I’ve tried once before, it never worked.

Ego you can’t do this to me.

like you said, you are me and I am you.

Indeed you’re right but there could only be one.

“Slams the cabin door”

Voids

It feels so empty inside

I could only see four haunting walls.

The agonized souls repeat the same phrase

“Forever after”

I ponder on the reason why?

Am I trapped in a horror tale and didn’t reach forever after?

Suddenly the soul’s keeper came in and took them to what was a door of illuminated mystery.

Then it hit me I had died and reached forever after.
